DRESS CODE INFORMATION

Bible Baptist Christian Academy has adopted a uniformity of dress in regard to color, fabric and style. Listed below is general information about our school dress code. You may request a student handbook to view more specific information about the dress code. We encourage all prospective parents to do this.

Girls

Elementary girls may purchase uniforms through French Toast Co. There are four different styles they may choose from. It is best to order their uniforms directly through the French Toast Website, (www.FrenchToast.com or by calling 1-800-372-6248). However, sometimes local stores (Burlington and Wal-mart) will carry the same style. If you do purchase them through a local store, please do not remove the tags before checking with us to make sure it is the same style allowed by our school. If there are differences, we will ask you to please replace them with the correct style.

Junior High and High school Girls may wear khaki, black or navy blue cotton twill skirts. They may purchase their skirts wherever you can find them. Although they are not required to purchase their skirts through French Toast, French Toast does offer a straight skirt in the khaki and navy style. They also have a variety of sizes to choose from. The dressy polyester material and spandex material is not acceptable. The skirts should be your every day cotton material.

The following is a basic guideline for your child in regard to the fit and appropriateness of their skirts. These guidelines are for elementary, junior high, and high school.

1. Hemlines of pleated skirts must be at least to the bottom of the knee all the way around.

2. Hemlines of straight skirts must be at least two inches below the bottom of the knee all the way around.

3. Slits in skirts must be sewn closed at least to the bottom of the knee. This includes kick pleats.

4. No “cargo” style skirts are allowed.

Boys

Elementary, jr. high and high school boys must wear either khaki, black or navy blue pants.

The following is a basic guideline for your child in regard to the fit and appropriateness of their pants. These guidelines are for elementary, junior high and high school.

1. No “cargo” style pants are allowed.

2. The baggy, low cut crotch style is not acceptable.

3. Elementary—if the pants have belt loops, a belt must be worn.

Jr. High and High School—Belt must be worn every day.

Boys’ hair must be a taper-cut and at least one finger width above eyebrows. The sideburns may not be longer than the middle of the ear’s opening. Because coats, sweaters or winter jackets are not to be worn in the classrooms, students may purchase BBCA sweatshirts through the school. These sweatshirts are part of the approved uniform for BBCA.

Note: THE BBCA DRESS CODE IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR ALL BBCA STUDENTS AT ALL SCHOOL-RELATED ACTIVITIES. Please be sure to review all the information concerning the dress code in the student handbook.
